Badhaai Do: Why Ayushmann Khurrana Lost Out On The Film?- EXCLUSIVE
Many are heartbroken to know that Badhaai Ho actor Ayushmann Khurrana will not be seen in its sequel. SpotboyE.com brings to you the reason why Ayushmann couldn't bag the project
Ayushmann Khurrana is undoubtedly the king of content-based cinema. His films always come with a message and have a high level of connectivity with the audience. Badhaai Ho was one such film in his career, which got him a lot of accolades, besides Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao and Surekha Sikri also shining bright.
So, when SpotboyE.com broke the news of Rajkummar Rao replacing Ayushmann Khurrana in Badhaai Ho sequel, Badhaai Do, there was a lot of buzz in the industry and fans about the decision. Not that Rajkummar Rao is not eagerly waited to be seen in the sequel, he also has a niche in the segment but the question that why Ayushmann was not continued crossed everyone's mind.
We bring the answer! A source close to the film tells us that Junglee pictures had always envisioned to make Badhaai Ho a franchise based on different topics and wanted new characters in each film.
"The makers had thought about the idea of going thematic and franchised based on Badhaai Ho, 2 years back. They always wanted fresh characters in their films, which also meant new actors playing them. This is one of the primary reasons why Ayushmann was not considered. Add on to that he just played a gay character in Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhaan, so the producers would have definitely wanted to avoid a repetition," source told us.
Well, we're sure Khurrana's fans will miss seeing him in the sequel, but we think Rajkummar Rao is just the right one to step into Ayushmann's shoes. Isn't it?
